QIDI PET-CF is a carbon-fibre reinforced PET engineering filament developed for the FDM printing process. The PET base gives low moisture absorption, high strength, creep resistance, excellent chemical resistance and high heat resistance. Parts stay dimensionally stable with no warping, no shrinkage and no smell, and no heated chamber is required during printing.

Why carbon-fibre reinforced PET

Intelligent fibre reinforcement. The fibre mesh releases internal stress during printing, so the part keeps its dimensions and does not distort.
Low creep. The regular molecular chain and rigid benzene ring structure of PET deform less under long-term load than PA or PC.
High mechanical strength. Stronger, stiffer and more wear-resistant than plain PETG, suited to torsional, tensile and impact loads.
Low moisture absorption. Only 0.5%, so humidity does not degrade the mechanical properties or dimensional stability.
Vacuum aluminium foil packaging with a water vapour transmission rate of just 0.014%.

Before you print

Use a hardened steel or bimetal nozzle in 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8 mm. Brass and copper wear out fast against carbon fibre, and a 0.2 mm nozzle is not compatible.
Glue on the bed helps the first layer stick.
Dry the spool before a long print for the cleanest surface.
